San Vicinio

THE REGION
It is a very wide sub-area with viticulture localised close to the Savio stream along the road linking Cesena and Rome between 60 and 350 m asl
The part most densely and historically planted with vines is in the municipality of Mercato Saraceno where the soil is free, deep and rich in gravel.  North of the town (like in the Montesasso borough) is more austere soil originating from the marl and sandstone rock characterised by a cooler pre-Apennines climate.

THE WINES
Wines in this area lose potency and take on a certain liquidity due to the presence of gravel in the soil and a more continental climate.
The most interesting expression of these wines blend aromatic fragrance with some green notes as well as thin yet bright colours and authentic acidity.
