THE REGION
It is the highest and most wooded winemaking area in Romagna (250-550 m asl).
The soil is poor and light, originated from the decay of ancient ochre-coloured sandstone, alternating with often thin layers of brown or grey marl.
This sub-area is crossed by three streams (from west to east: Acerreta, Tramazzo and Ibola) which flow into the centre of town thus originating the Marzeno river.
The three valleys crossed by the streams originate three crus that differ by soil, altitude and width.
THE WINES
The wines have scents of flowers and wild berries, a green note is always present, evolving in balsamic and mineral.
The colour is light, the structure delicate, acidity is sharp, long-lived and flavourful, the tannins are well-balanced and subdued.
