THE REGION
This is the smallest sub-area of Romagna Sangiovese. It is crossed by the Marzeno stream, hence the name. Altitude is 60-150m asl. The soil is clayey and red in the lowest part of the valley, brown-grey and calcareous on the higher slopes, where the mention crosses the line of the ravines.

THE WINES
The wines are warm, thick, with scents of voluminous and red fruits. The structure is often important and the tannins are stern. Typical wines of clay and medium warm area.
